The twenty five cent quilt

Thrift Store QuiltThrift Store Quilt 2

I went to a yardsale today, and along with piles of sheets for the shop, I got this quilt. It was sewn completely up in two white sheets, and I could kind of see a quilt pattern through it. The lady offered to sell it to me for a quarter, and I did not want to ask any questions in case she figured out how much more someone would have paid for it. I got it home and ripped the sheets off and found this! The wormanship is not great, but the colors and over all effect are. The pink rectangles have degraded so much because they are silk. The fading makes me think they were already part of a worn out grament when they were used. Maybe a pink silk dress.

That might be the best quilt score I’ve ever seen! 25 cents!!!! What are you going to do with it?

I had it on my bed before the weather turned. Now it is draped artistically over the boxes of winter clothes that have been sitting in the corner for two weeks. I will unpack them some day.
